Gus,
Where are you located?
What kind of pay do you want?
What power tools do you have?
What trades are you skilled in? Semi skilled in?
People skills?
Full time only, or can you handle part time for a while?
Ever been a lead?
SamT
He must be a plunder..I mean, plumber. " all faucets". (G)

Just like any other sub, you weren't listening. Or was it selective listening?
Gus
SPHERE,
No, I am a carpenter, my joints hold water.
Gus
Nah...
A plumber is one of those sticks with bubbles to make things plumb.
If you ever got a bill from a "faucet guy" you would know it is "Plunder"

SamT,
To answer your questions:
1. I am located in southeast Iowa.
2. I would like $18.00 per hour.
3. More then the sands on the beach. lol What ever the job requires for quailty result.
4. Framing, finish carpentry, trim carpentry, semi skilled in plumbing and electrical.
5. Very good people skills ( my wife says so. lol)
6. Would prefer full time.
7. I have run my own construction business part time for 6 years.
Thank you for your ( compared to the other replies) intelligent questions. lol
Gus
Since I was the first to post a less-than-intelligent response, I'll respond again for all the rest of us.
Glad to see you came back. Lighten up a little, although you did take it pretty well ... some newbies (apprentices?) to this site get really ballistic very easily. I hope you realize that the forum is kinda like a brotherhood (with a few sisters and Luka thrown in) ... we really do want to help you, it's just that we sometimes treat you like a brother ... you know ... give you heck at home but defend you in public.
FYI, there are some newbies that we really don't take a liking to, and it's really obvious. Either we totally ignore them, or we respond with some downright trashy stuff. So far, you're still in.
Good luck in the job hunt.
I'm sorry, I thought you wanted it done the right way.
Ed,
No, It is very hard to get me to go ballistic. Am very laid back. I have been married long enough that I can take just about anything.
Look forward to any challenge.
Gus
By s.e. Iowa, are you talking about Keokuk, or Washington, or Pella? If you're in Lee county then $18.00 hr. is probably a bit ambitious. I know several guys that live as far south as wayland and keota and work in Iowa City. If you're as talented as you indicate, you might land in that pay range up there.
Basically, the building "hot spots" right now are the Cedar Rapids Iowa City area, The Quad Cities, and Des Moines.

Welcome to the Taunton University of Knowledge FHB Campus at Breaktime. where ... Excellence is its own reward!
I haven't heard from brother Luka in a while. Sure hope he's taking that comment well. I don't want him to go on a cross-country trek to hunt me down.
I'm sorry, I thought you wanted it done the right way.
I'm halfway there now.Got myself strapped up to the bottom of a railroad car, and I'm typing on a wireless connected laptop...See you sometime soon.I hope this train turned left at Albuquerque...

That reminds me of an old movie I saw on tv several (many) years ago, and it was on again this year. May have been called King of the Road or something. No ... Emperor of the West? Starred Lee Marvin as a rail-riding hobo who teaches his tricks to a younger guy. Fascinating movie.
edit: Emperor of the North Pole, 1973, Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, Keith Carradine.
Makeup and Wardrobe Departments have done a fine job of turning them into 'Bos. They don't look Hollywood dirty, with a few smears of mud. They just look dirty. Their clothing is filthy. All in all, a good delousing looks called for. Marvin's face, by the time this was released, looked just beat-up enough, and from life, not booze. The plot has to do with a duel of wits between Marvin, who is determined to demonstrate his skill at the top of the status ziggurat by riding Borgnine's train to Porland, OR. Borgnine, much to the puzzlement of the rest of the train crew, is obssessed with keeping his freight train clean of hitch-hikers. He's fiendishly clever in smoking out and hurting riders. Carradine is the kind of youth often called "callow." He brags a lot and is brave but, alas, is unable to absorb the rules of the game because he plays for reasons of self aggrandizement, not for the team. He winds up in the drink.
I'm sorry, I thought you wanted it done the right way.

Gus

Welcome to Breaktime. Ditto what Sam said. Are you looking to relocate?
You might want to make a correction to a typo in your message: 11 yrs exp. in all faucets should probably be "all facets" although maybe you've done lots & lots of kitchen faucets. :)
I'm sorry, I thought you wanted it done the right way.
..........and updating, not up dateing.

Hey Ed,
Not yet, my son has 3 yrs in college, and I am helping him through, he also will be my spell check.
Gus
Ok here we go, hope my spelling is better.(my wife is looking over my shoulder kind of thing).
Thought everyone should know, ever since word got out that I was looking to get back in I now have 7 job interviews with contractors of good standing. Thanks to all for the compliments on my spelling. It's good to have those who can dish it out and take it in. Makes the world a little bit better.
