Prescriptive codes don't address the connection at less common angles, so base the connection off more typical ones using bolts, structural screws, blocking, and steel tension ties.

Reading your post and realize it's a couple weeks old, but will respond anyway.
I'm a carpenter by trade, living in Oklahoma but looking for a reason to return to NYS. Originally from upstate, (north of Watertown). Have got about 25 years experience and am a jack of all trades sort. Carpentry first, drywall, concrete, siding, tiling floors and walls, etc. Have renovated approximately 25 houses in my lifetime, tearing out old lathe/plaster walls and rocking, sistering sagging floor joists, you name it, almost anything that is required in restoring old houses. Have built many new houses in upstate, hunting lodges and recently here, building restaurants for a chain here in Okie, all wooden interiors BTW.
Give me a shout on here and we'll see what we can work out....always wanted to get back up that way.....Paul
I am currently looking for finish carpenters to work in the Lake Placid area.
Post back if you're interested.
Jay...how long have you got work for??? I used to live in Gouverneur and am looking for good steady employment to get me back there....and I'm a pretty good finish carpenter.....If you aren't one of the one's I'm talking about, you shouldn't have any complaints....
I've got work for at least the summer , and I'm not done selling yet.
My problem with guaranteeing work is that up here in the Adirondacks contracting is not an exact science. Although I have rarely been without work in the last ten yrs. , I don't always know where the next job is coming from.
I would be glad to talk to you about the possibility. E-mail me at [email protected].
will send you pics of the finish work I've done on some commercial projects, all wood and drywall BTW, they're too big to fit on here so I'll send them private e-mail if you like,......If you aren't one of the one's I'm talking about, you shouldn't have any complaints....
Use Irfanview and shrink em.A problem cannot be solved by the same thinking that created it. Albert Einstein
Irfanview?? where do I find that???If you aren't one of the one's I'm talking about, you shouldn't have any complaints....
http://www.irfanview.com Mess with it for a few minutes and you'll be able to resize your pics before you know it.
If not post em here. Either myself or someone else will shrink em down for the kids on the short bus.A problem cannot be solved by the same thinking that created it. Albert Einstein
Jay...forgot to mention yesterday that I've got all my own tools required as well...when I show up on a job site I'm prepped for almost anything, pneumatic stuff, CMS's, best thing is it's all in good working condition, if something I've got can't pass an OSHA walk through I don't have it on a job site....thanks..If you aren't one of the one's I'm talking about, you shouldn't have any complaints....
if you like...read my posts in the forum under general discussion titled Oklahoma Horror Stories...it'll give you an idea of why I want to get out of Okie so much after you read what they call quality down here.....I can't do poor work like that and refuse to lower my standards....
