Greetings All,
Our 18 year old furnace’s burners are cycling on and off at 10 second intervals once the heater has run for approximately ten minutes. The fan continues to operate during this time. I am assuming that some heat sensor in the furnace needs to be replaced. Of course I cannot locate the manual that came with the unit.
Are there any heating gurus out there that have heard of this problem?
Perhaps a web site operated by the Carrier Corporation where I might find a wiring diagram of my particular model.
Model year 1983 – Model #58SC090-CA.
Thanks for your help,
Jerry (CA)

Furnaces have an over temp thermostat on them that will shut down the burner.
Most like cause for them to overheat is restricted air flow. Check the filter, blower, and see that too many registers or dampers are not shut off.
