Can anyone tell me how to hook up twisted pair wiring to the phone service outside my house that just has the red, green, yellow and black solid wires? Can this even be done?
Thanks, kkjmagpie

Kevin,
Look at this link:

Have fun....
*Think Christmas colors...red and green.
*Bill, Thanks alot that is exactly what I needed to know.Kevin Miller
*and after hooking up the christmas colors you wrap the left over black and yellow around the cable near where you stripped off the jacket and you get a little bumble bee.
*Christmas colors & bumble bees... I like it! :-)But my evil overly precise twin is making me de-lurk to point out one thing...The subject of "Category 5,5e wiring" refers to the latest ratified standards for computer network cabling (cat 6 is in the works but not official).Network cabling is very similar to telephone cabling, just done to much tighter standards.... basic phone wiring is pre-cat 3 level. Cat 5e wiring would make a great phone system, but is overkill.Excellent answers have already been given to your real question so enjoy.
