cathedral ceiling gable ends
Hello, I`m looking for any suggestions for insulating the upper section of wall in a cathedral ceiling living room, the “gable” ends which are adjacent to attic space. The room is in center of house not exterior wall. Drywall is already on which makes it difficult to install vapor barrier. I have access from attic but trusses have irregular spacing to install batts in traditional manner. Should I use some combination of furring strips and staple or perhaps rigid foam cut to fit? I want R-13 consistent with exterior walls. Thanks

Furring strips and staples are about all I can think of at the moment. You'll probably need the wood to screw your drywall to anyway.
For any of you that haven't got to this point yet - I suggest framing a 2X6 wall on the end of a vault. that way you can build a 2X4 kneewall on top of the regular wall and then insulate it like a typical 2X4 wall. That way you're a lot less likely to get cold drafts in the winter.
