Hi, I’m new at Breaktime, spend most of my time over at Cooks Talk, but my husband and I have recently bought some land and are planning to build in about two years. I’ll probably be bugging you all a lot.
Anyway, several months ago, I was sure I was browsing around Breaktime, and someone mentioned that if you are just starting out, it’s a great idea to buy the CD’s that have hundreds of old articles from Fine Homebuilding. Am I just imaging that? When I try to locate the CD’s on this website, I can’t find them.
Thanks for your help.
Sandy

I did not know Taunton had a cd available. I know JLC does.

I know that FHB did sell a cd because I have one. They also offered one for FWW but both have been dropped. You might find one for sale on e-bay. Taunton also used to offer a one year access to these articles http://www.taunton.com/store/fharchive/index.asp
but it now appears you can only buy them directly. It would be worth it to call them though IMHO.

Wonder if they decided it was more profitable to sell individual back articles instead of the total CD?

Well it's good to know that I wasn't losing my mind. Thanks. I'll keep my eyes out on e-bay.Sandy
I bought the CD about 3 years ago, and use it somewhat infrequently. It's a great resource. Good luck in finding a used one. Try Ebay.
Hey Beebs,
Yes we did publish a CD for both FineHomebuilding and Fine Woodworking. A best of series, the original "print" run that we made for the cds was sold out so last spring we started to develop a new one and it will be available sometime in the next couple of months.
And yes we did also sell an online access to them but for technical reason we had to stop offering that. We will hopefully be offering that again sometime soon. If you have any further questions on this please let me know.
