An upcoming job specs #1 blue label (24"); 7 1/2 "
to the weather. One roofer suggested "cedar breather", though with a distinct lack of enthusiasm. I am interested in recommending the best possible install. Does anyone have experience
or theoretical insights? My first impression was a recycled use of "Enkadrain" from the early 80's.
Thanks in advance, Rick
*.....don't kow what part of the country you're in...but here our typical spec would be "Perfections" THICK BUTT (5/8")5 1/2" to weatherover Shingle Breatherover Roofers Select feltwith ice and water at eaves and rakes, copper dripedge at eaves and rakesShingle Breather Ridge detail with shingle cap or cedar board capcopper flashings over ice and waterSS gun nails or HD galv hand nails (2" box nail)wouldn't do a ceader roof without Shingle Breather, have had good results..This was also discussed in Archive 1 of "Construction Techniques"
