In the next few weeks I am going to build an elaborate cedar deck. The contract (which I didn’t write) calls for painted railings and clear finished deck surfaces. I’ve read the label on a variety of clear finishes (like CWF-UV) and it seems that finishing the deck right away isn’t recommended. The intent is for the deck to remain looking “new.” We are also to seal all sides of every piece. Any input on materials or techniques would be welcome. Also any advice about painting. Thanks
