Cedar shingle corners-What’s it called?

What the proper term for doing cedar shingle siding corners without corner boards? What I’m trying to describe is the finish where you overlap the shingles at the corner, alternating each course; planeing each shingle to follow the angle of the shingle on the opposing wall.
