Cedar shingle siding – easy way to replace a single shingle, or just a few
Is there an easy way to repair a broken cedar shingle that is siding on a home ? The home is old and sided with boards, with beaver board over the base boards and then the cedar shingles on the outer layer. Is there a small effective tool to remove one shingle at a time without damaging surrounding shingles ?
Can the method shown in your video where you actually cut the shingle off just under the upper shingle, place a flashing card under it and just replace it with another shingle – can this method be used on corner shingles of the house? Is no glue or caulking or anything put at the top seam of that shingle ?
