Cedar siding to plywood garage door

Finally got my garage door installed. I am planning on glueing (PL) and nailing cedar siding to it. Since I have to glue it (plywood is 1/8″), I can’t apply a felt. The door came primed, should it be painted as well before the cedar goes on?

Sounds like a strange application of siding, but I would think you would want to backprime the siding prior to install.
I'll definately backprime (as I did to all the cedar on the house). Would you suggest a different method of applying the cedar.
Don't forget to add the weight of your siding to the door weight and calculate the new spring size you need. The easiest way is to weigh a few pieces on a bathroom scale and calculate it out.
The door installers will come back when the cedar is on and adjust the springs. They were sized according to the anticipated added weight.
Why don't you beef up the panel's sheathing with an added layer of 1/2" ply over the 1/8" or use maybe 3/4" ply strips PL adhered to the panels like vertical strapping to nail the siding to- the garage door guys are coming back to retension the springs anyway so you have that base covered already.
That's sounds like a good idea. Then I can add a layer of felt as well.
Probably would give the strapping a primer- the felt paper is meant to be a water jacket (lets water wick out at the bottom), not your purpose with the overhead door, since you have a group of panels horizontally broken at each joint.
