It’s gonna be interesting watching all the cell phone companies scramble to retain customers,( and go after others) as the new laws take effect next month.
I got my first offer from my carrier, Sprint, today.
Seeing as how I’ve been such a great customer over the years, the want to give me a ….gasp….5% discount on all future bills.
All I have to give them in return? …….. My signature on a 1 year contract.
Any better offers out there?

What changes are you refering to?
Do it right, or do it twice.
They have to let you keep your number now if you change suppliers.
1 year contract?
damn, they want me to sign for 2, trouble is they haven't offerend anything except 50 bucks off a phone...wooohooo!!
Don't even need a new phone.
All I want is a carrier that actually puts the freakin call through.
I can't tell you how many people have called and left messages on my hard wire office line to report that " We can't get through to you on the cel phone---it keeps saying'this number is either turned off or out of the service area'"
I live about 30 miles from sprints, "world headquarters", you think I get great reception?
nope...
Cell phones!! NEVER take a contract longer than 1 year. I have AT&T wireless and while I have a great price on minutes, using them is tough, 1 phone does not work in the house, 2 drops the call when you answer, 3 Customer service says "There are some poor areas, (are all my jobs in them?) 4 they have a new system taking over from the old and for me to change over its near retail for the phone and 2 year contract required. Roll on november 'cause me and my phone number is gone!!
I don't know about price comparison, but my Nextel service has vastly improved over the last 2 years. My bill has constantly gone down, but that's due to the larger number of people on Nextel in my area. The radio service is free.
fwiw, AT&T is a large contributor to so called "Gun Safety Orginazations" aka Gun Haters as is aol Time Warner.
AT&T is outta my house as soon as the contracts run out.
