is it true that cellulose can settle down in the wall cavities?
if so, what can be done about it at that stage?
thanks and good luck

eddie,
It depends on how densely it was blown in the first place. If you blow it to a density of greater than about 2 lbs/cu. ft it won't settle. If yours has settled, drill a hole at the top of the wall cavity and blow in some more.
Steve
*eddie.. if it's blown in at the same density as the smoke someone is blowing you .. then yeah.. it'll settle...so will anything...if it's blown in at a density IN EXCESS of it's settled density.. then it can't settle... same thing with fiberglass.. it CANNOT settle beyond it's settled density..b now...what prompted this question?.. did you find an insulation contractor who's trying to talk you out of something ?what county are you in.. i gotta figger out if we're related ...got any phalens or mills in your closet ?
*'phalens or mills'?not sure what you mean, although i do have my own saw'mill'.i might have a contractor in the north of ireland who will do cellulose for me. since you suggested it, i looked into it a little more, seems in our climate that it's the bet thing to use, if you can find someone who does it.i'm from wicklow, don't know about the connection though.anyway, good to here you opinion.good luck.
