HeavyX here and I need to know how long in takes to put on a square of cement board siding. Never done it before so I have no idea how to bid. I appreciate any advice. I am glad its spring in Wisconsin now, it seems that people finally want work done. Thanks in advance

According to the National Construction Estimator for Cedarmill 6 1/4 inch, 21 plank per 100 sq ft your labor would be approx .051 hrs per sq ft or 5 hours per square. Average labor is $1.45 sq ft or $145 per sq. Theres other styles of cement siding listed if you want to tell me what your installing. Those prices don't include overhead or profit or anything.
Where is Wisconsin you at? MY brother was a navy recruiter in Rice Lake for 3 years. I visited for a month.....1 month to long.
Hey Heavy X,
I've done a couple cement jobs in Wisconsin. Your question's a little too vague, because there's a big difference between siding a ranch with 8 foot sidewalls and short gables and a two story victorian with 13 foot ceilings, steep gables all over the place, etc. Also, if it's two guys carrying the stuff up two ladders, wading through flowerbeds or set up like me on a 24 foot Alumapole system.
Just know this: It'll take you a lot longer than other siding; I think longer than cedar because you'll be paying a lot of attention to not scratching it if prestained, and it's heavier--so there is less you can do in terms of stacking, leaning, storing, carrying, etc. Plus all of your cut edges need to be painted and caulked, although that's how we do cedar too.
Where you at? Come on over, you can put some FC up with me any day you want, all I'll charge you is for the education!
