I was organizing tool truck and shop and I found I had 11 chaulk boxes and only 3 had line , the longest about 20′ frayed an jambed. I have 3 replacement lines but all I do is start the cycle over again when I replace them . If you have the same problems or a solution I need your advice. Also chaulk color, storage, and use is another interesting subject.———-Thanks! nails

I've heard some guys use braided nylon which is difficult to break. Run the line through some sandpaper to fuzz it out so it holds chalk.
My practice is to ALWAYS have extra boxes, chalk, and replacement lines.

I went to a fishing supply house and got some braided nylon line. I've got enough line to fill up 100's of boxes. Want some?
Peace,
