Nice.
Made the cabs, or bought 'em?
You sir, are a cad. Apologize at once!

thanks, Gene.
made um.
I generally buy my doors, except when they are slabs like this- my door co. (Decore door) won't touch these with the grain matching.
Sorry, GB. A lot of folks (me included) show pics of installations for which the cabs are mostly bought.
I get my cabs from Scherr's, but if I were to do a grainmatch deal like what you made, Crystal would do it for me.
I got a batch of fronts from a super guy down in Lenoir, NC, that were all MDF core and veneer faced in a grainmatched arrangement of cherry and sap maple. If you were ever to want to buy stuff, he would come recommended by me.
Do you use a vac bag press? I have thought of getting a setup.
no worries, Gene- the doors are just cut out of 3/4 A-1 cherry on MDF & edge banded. You can't really see it from these pics but I got 2 sets of 5 sheets that were sequential(I don't remember the proper terminology) - the veneer matched from sheet to sheet- all the end panels, doors, drawer fronts match (except 2 spots...)

I'd call you a man of few words, except that your pictures say so much!

Thanks, Piffin.
edited to add; no apology necessary, but thanks for that! I don't know of anywhere but a custom fabricator that you could buy cabinets like these...

I'd have taken it as an insult unless he'd indicated a joke by smiley face

I took it more like he either didn't look closely or doesn't know enough to know you can't buy cabinets as cut up as these are. Except from someone like me!(hehehe) Whatcha think of how I handled the cabinet/ceiling junction?
Greg
Looks nice!
Sometimes pictures dont do finish color justice so; what does your cabinets have on them for finish? Just clear coat or is there some light stain?
Doug
thanks Doug-
no stain, just vinyl sealer & cab acrylic lacquer
looks great as usual.
not much room there at the top to cheat ... how flat/level was the ceiling?
looks like it coulda been not much fun making it look pretty much prefect.

hey Jeff, howyadoin?
the ceiling was pretty good- the worst I had to deal with was 1/4" over two pieces. But every one had to be scribed some. Kind of a do or die deal to... a bit of stress... but thats what it's all about, right, the challenge? Don't know if I would go out of my way talking someone into this design again, tho. Did this one for a good friend of mine, so there was some love there, ya know? Anyway, enough babbling,
take it slow...
