Have any of you all used or seen the link together foam mats like the ones Tom Silva uses?
I bought some at Lowes on clearance and bought all they had. 48 square feet. They are 16 square feet to a package. I wouldn’t have paid full price for them 17 dollars but I got them for 11. ( “but these go to eleven.”) – Spinal tap.
They are the bomb for working in finished space like my hardwood flooring project. Link together what you need they cushion when you are working on your knes and protect the floor.

I've got some plain old black ones like that. From Costco. 32 sg/ft to the pack IIRC. I have them in my workshop and they are great. I paid something like $18 two years ago.

I bought a bunch at toysrus a coupla years ago...but be careful on the thickness, i've seen some thinner ones out there.
Yeah, these were clearance so beggars can't be choosers but doing this flooring they are as much a tool as anything else.

bought mine from toysrus when they were going out of business now they go all the way around my 5x12 work table :)
These mats are all over! Mine came from PEPBOYS and they were $10 for 6 2x2 mats @ 7/16" thick.

They are also great when installing metal roofing. You and your tools stay put without marring the finish.

I did my exercise room wall to wall, using these guys:

The calculator was right on, the variety of sizes of the mats, the colors, the fact that they sent me a sample beforehand all gave me a first class job. I didn't order the border tiles, just cut them with a utilty knife.
I still use the cutoffs for various projects 4 years later.

They cost $19 @ Sears and are on sale often for $10.
