My chimney sweep ran a camera up and showed me how a few flue tiles were broken. He also said the flue should extend beyong the top of the chimney (i also need a chimney cap). when repointing (term?) the chimney can flue tiles be replaced? I believe the broken tiles are near the top. I’m also on the verge of going to ventless gas logs. I’ll miss the wood fires though. What do you think? Surrender to gas logs or is there a way to fix the chimney without going through the $3500 poured around the balloon fix that was quoted to me. That included other stuff… but $3500 buys a set of gas logs for every room in my house! 🙂
