If I ever build a custom house for myself I’m gonna find the guy that did this chimney and hire him to do mine. What do you think of it?

Wish I could remember how to lighten and sharpen a pic.
Sure would like to see in that darkened shadow on the chimney.
That's the third time I've tried to take a picture of that chimney and I haven't gotten a real clear one yet. The twists are seperate in the middle.Who Dares Wins.
Irfanview has a setup that would clarify it but I ferget. bwaa!
That is brightened as much as I can get it with irfanview. I think the problem is taking the picture against the sky.Who Dares Wins.

Looks like a simple do it yourself job!
Yea right! I've never seen anything like it around here. Of course I might not be hanging out in the right neighborhoods.Who Dares Wins.
That is a wicked chimney!
It may be possible they were trying for a regular chimney but were standing on that scaffold you posted... :~)
That would certainly give any home a nice sense of character.
wonder what that would cost.
If Blue were a bricklayer, he could do that, no lines needed.
Can you email me the original of that one?

It's not to far away. I might ride over again and have another try at it today.Who Dares Wins.
it draws better that way, rifling for the smoke!

We have an older edition of town called Florence Park that has chimneys like that. The area was built around the 40's - 50's and most of the homes have some of the best chimney masonry work around. I personally believe the houses were built to show off the masons work.
We don't do that anymore, just straight monoliths with inserts. Time to bring back the spacey masons of old and turn em loose.
Not as fancy but here's two photos of the same pick your size.
That's very different. I don't think I've seen anything like that around here.Who Dares Wins.
I lived in Tulsa back in the early 80's, brother still lives there.
IIRC there was a large house at either Harvard or Yale, could be wrong, and maybe the 41st 51st intersection. Its been a while.
Anyhow the home owner subdivided some of his lot to create maybe 3 or 4 lots.
There was a brick house that was the first to be built on one of these lots. It has several brick chimneys, I remember they were pretty unique looking, at least to me. Not as neat as the one gunner posted but it did make me think about those on that house.

Not sure what you might mean but I'll check it out soon as my wife will drive me . MY legs in a brace from surgery so it'll be in a few days. Can you be more specificas to the area? Not much at those locations that fit.
I'll have to dig deep in the memory banks, I remember the house real well, just not exactly sure of the location.

I'll be in Naples, FL, for Thanksgiving, and I can recall being there before and seeing one or more of the new $15 million-plus megahouses built on the beach, with many full-twist chimneys.
I'll remember to take my digital camera, and bring back some pics to post here.
cool.Who Dares Wins.
I live in Cleveland Heights, Ohio in an area where there are lots of older homes.....I've seen several like that and CAG is right, it does add a lot of character......
