My wife gave me a list of things to do for Christmas….
finish the base I started, hang the new doors, install the rest of the crown and paint it all.
So this weekend what did I do? I built a totem. This totem will hold all 35 family members full stockings for Christmas gathering in one small 24″ diameter space and rotate. The pegs will be turned to make fancy and painted. They screw into 1/4″ x 20 inserts and the totem dismantles to 3 pieces for easy storage. The totem was painted green and slapped with a Pine branch dipped in a lighter shade.
While my DW is pleased she says I still gotta do the other task plus get the lights up, sheesh!

that is SO cool! i'm jealous of all your family-
Over the years family members have rigged up ropes through there house, nailed them to ther walls, clipped them to there fireplace brick using 2" PVC cut clips and many more successfull and disasterous ways.
This is going to be a gift to the family. Anyone putting on Christmas gathering can use this. I'm offering to deliver and set up. We'll see what they think soon.
Three years ago my wife made an Advent quilt that won 1st prise at the county fair. We let it circulate around to the hosting family as well and it seems to be liked very much.
Cool
Way cool.
Great idea. I love the paint job.
