Went to look at a roof repair behind the bell tower on this Church today and thought some folks here might enjoy the scenery.
Had to slip this guy a five spot so I could ascend the staircase !!

Prescriptive codes don't address the connection at less common angles, so base the connection off more typical ones using bolts, structural screws, blocking, and steel tension ties.

Really neat. What kind of church, and how old? In the picture of the gearworks, there are two sets of woodn paddle thingies. That's some kind of governor, right?

Hey man , I was on the run to find roof leaks and took some quick pictures ' cause I thought folks might enjoy seeing them.
Someone else will have to flesh out the details -- I'm just the messenger here.
Thanks for looking .
Walter

Meet me at House & Builder!
My pleasure Ted .
I'd seen them many times before , but still impressive.
How many bells are there? It looks like it might be a simple 19th century carillon of sorts.
Remind me to tell you a church bell story.
Not sure how many . I'll check again when I'm there roofing.
Neat parts! When I was doing pipe organs we'd sometimes have to maintain the carillons and chimes in the tower, always hot and cramped for room up in them things.
Neat workings in them old ones thats for sure.
Looks like a Rube Goldburg pulley system , but I guess it works.
