I bought the special purchase $99 Dewalt 7 1/4 saw (DW369) at home depot.
On a post in the bottom of the case is a spring with the coil about 1/2 inch in diameter and loops that form handles at each end. What is it for? I looked in the instructions and couldn’t find it.
Replies
How big are the end loops? How long is the coil overall?
Maybe it's the automatic recall spring: http://www.dewalt.com/us/articles/article.asp?ID=581
I'm having a hard time picturing what you describe, but I'm guessing it's to store extra blades?

That would be my guess -- a retainer to hold extra blades, or maybe the instruction manual.
