I’m going to apply an acid stain to a covered concrete porch that has been scored to resemble stone tiles. The stain manufacturer (Kemiko) says not to use an acid as a cleaner. What can I clean the concrete with to remove stains from construction such as rust, stucco (sto color coat), etc. ? Any ideas?

Try calling the stain manufacturer and ask what they recommend you do use.
Oldmxer,
I have had good success with a pressure washer, 2000 plus psi variety not the cheap junk at the discount stores. Hold it fairly close to the dirty spots and let it dry out before you stain it. Good luck.

What the Professor says. Before pressure washing though, give it a quick scrub with TSP and a stiff brush to get the oils and grease off.
I concur with the TSP, this is what Kemeco recommends for a cleaner.

make sure its real TSP, ive seen TSP labled as such with no tri-sodium phosphates even in the mix.
