We have a very large brick house that @ one time was covered in vines on parts of the house. I plan on power washing the entire house using a chemical masonary wash, point up the brick as needed, then spray with a silicone sealer of some sort. QUESTIONS: should I point the brick before washing or after and what kind/brand sealer should I use. It was brought to my attention that a plane masonary sealer will not work, the brick needs to breathe and not trap mositure in the brick. Any comments please., thank you.

Make sure evertything is painted before spraying the silicone sealer, because it will interfewre with adhesion of any future paint.
