If you push too hard, you are likely to find yourself on the back end of a contract that you won't get payed for.
How long have you been trying to get them to sign?
Sometimes the best way is to say... Call me when you are ready
Jet,
Thank you for your time and the good advice.
FYI the process has been going on for a good three weeks, I am not pushing until they call....
Thanks again!
can you break it down into smaller units, so they can proceed in small steps, but not be too hung out if they have to quit in the middle? Just a thought."...craftsmanship is first & foremost an expression of the human spirit." - P. Korn

Huck,
That is a good thought. Will mention to clients if need be.
Thank you for your time.
Throw in a free car with every contract signed.
A lower price if they sign within a time frame would inspire them. Of course, that's money out of your pocket, but if you're sitting at home it's better than letting your tools rust.

Ted W,
Good advice and an excellent idea. Will certainly consider!
I took the freedom to visit your web site and I congratulate you on your nice work. I may be contacting you for advise on stair rail, we have some of that coming up.
Thanks for the kind words about my work. As for the stair rail advice, you're best off just posting here in the forums. Of course, I'll chime in where I can, but there's some stairbuilders around here who know way more than I do. I just did the assembly on the one on my website.~ Ted W ~
