for a closet rod, is ther a standard distance from the wall that rod should be? I seem to remember someone telling me a certian distance that the rod should be from the wall maby I dreamed it?

I aim for 11.5" If you have a center hanger, it will position it for you. A hanger is 22" and the average closet is 24" finished interior.
