wondering what you “design inclined” would do in this instance. I have built a Victorian Shingle house in the backwoods of Upstate NY. The foundation is stone veneer. The grade @ front porch goes from 2′ to 4′ across the front. Should I; A). bring some stone up level then build a few long, squat panels the remainder? B). Bring stone up the whole way (with vents)? C). Build panels at angle of grade, leaving small space at grade to prevent rot? Bringing up grade is not an option. Thanks!!!

front porch
Would help to know:
1) How high is the porch framing above the high point of the existing grade? Or is it at the 2' grade you mentioned?
2) How many panels would there be across the front if you did panels?
3) Could you post a phot? Could save a 1000 words
front porch
Yes, porch framing 2' min. clear of grade, then grade falls away to 4'. Porch goes all across front (26'). Stairs to one side (where it's 4' to grade. Stairs 6' wide. Post down to concrete pier, flush to grade at center of remaining 20' porch span. Porch 8' deep. I was thinking one panel either side of post down.

All stone with vents-can't get under there if you should want to.
Unlevel panels grade-things change- and a few inches above grade leaves places for vermin to look for a home or cat box.
Stone with squat removable panels-you can get under if you need to.
Can't say much about the look w/o seeing what you've got there already.
Around corner of front porch the grade is level,4', where I was going to construct by-passing panels for access (to my lengths of pipe and whatnot that my wife has been looking at in dismay for, oh, I don't know, 12 yrs.). :-)
