What is the difference between Cobra 2 and Cobra 3 ridge venting?
Is there something better?
Also, I heard today that there is a shortage of 20yr. shingles, and roofing companies use the 3-tab for starter courses and ridge shingles to add to the shortage. To offset that, Timberline is offering a newer starter shingle and ridge shingle at a lower price. Know anything about these?
Your help is always appreciated,
Bill

I think if you compair specs you will see that most rigid (plastic) ridge vent gives better ventilation than Cobra.
As far as 20 yr shingles, I wouldn't put those even on the cheapest home I build. OK- maybe if it was a used house that was already sold, and the buyer was demanding a new roof for replacement of a roof that did not need replacing...
Thanks, Matt.
Do you prefer any special brand of ridge vent?
Thanks,
Bill

Shingle Vent II from Air Vent Inc.
There are a few companies that have copied the Shingle vent II. I believe Tamco is one.
