Hi,
Northern cottage has a front door and a door into the garage. No service door in garage. Do I need to have a service door in the garage to comply with building codes for exits from a home?? THANKS

To prevent moisture buildup and improve performance, install a continuous air barrier—such as drywall or specialized membranes—under tongue-and-groove boards or other interior wall paneling.

OK I give up. What the hell is this???
a bumpasaurus....
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming<!----><!----><!---->
WOW!!! What a Ride!

your house may be grandfathered in an dnot an issue based on when it was built so current code may not apply. Local laws/ordinances may differ but I think the current code (IRC 2006) requirment is only one door 3-0 x 6-8 and that door cannot access to the garage. No requirement for a 2nd door.
IIRC, of course.
ETA: Check your county BI to see if any county regs apply. Most BIs are slack now and quick to answer the phone.
