Hi

I’m building a coffered ceiling and I want to put in recessed lighting in half of the coffers. A ceiling truss falls about 1 3/4″ from the center of two coffers where I want to put lights. I’ve tried to find a mini recessed light can that can be positioned in the center of the coffer safely, but no luck. Does anyone know of a 3″ recessed light fixture that can be against the truss? Does non-IC mean they cannot be against wood framing also? I’m guessing they can’t be. Will it look right if the lights are not positioned dead-center in the coffer when the others are? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
