anyone used one of those Senco Duraspin screw guns? I need to put down a second layer of plywood floor sheating and I would like to avoid crawling around on my knees.

no but I have the "Quickdrive" screw gun.
Bought it several years ago from the Tool Crib of the North and love it.
Screws are easy to get at HD.
Be screwed

You can get screws for your Quickdrive at HD?
Out this way they only sell the Duraspin brand.

Cag,
They are down by the register farthest from the rental center. On a stand up display. Maybe just small packs of 240 screws.
All HDs are the same, right? :-)

I also have the quickdrive 2000. That is the whole setup with screwgun and walking stick extension. Just love it.
It's not perfect, but what is?
I also have a couple of the quickdrive attachments for "any" drill.
Cheap little thing, you can usually buy them on eBay for less that $15.
And it also works great.
But, I guess that doen't answer your question. Sorry no info on the Senco.

The only thing I don't like about it is if you don't use the trigger perfectly or have the barrel dead straight the screw jamb or don't go all the way in the wood.
I like that you can use it with or without the barrel..
Also I learned not to shoot the last screw in cause most of the time it'll jamb.
The other thing is having to use that little stupid key to get the bits out.
I ended up just using a vice grip.
Other than that I've screwed thousands of sq ft with it.True compassion arises out of the plane of consciousness where I "am" you.

Yeah, Like I said not perfect, but I went after a little 10x12 deck the other day and didn't have it with me. You know did it by hand.
all I could think was how great the quikdrive would have been to have.
The bit deal is a bit pesky, but I would love to have some magnetic bit holders that used that system. I hate when the bit stays in the screw.

I have rented the B&D head with the PAM extension a couple times. When faced with a mammoth subfloor screw job last spring I looked at the duraspin. Even with the 75 or 100 dollar into rebate I thought it too light duty and bought a PAM setup with Milwaukee screw gun head. This I can also "shorten" to collated drywall gun size (don't think I would hang board with it) or just have the screw gun, hand fed screwing. I ended up with a bit more variety than the duraspin kit.

I've got the Dura spin, corded with the long handle. Love it!!! The bits are spendy though. Much easier to change than the Quick Drive, IMHO. The bits hold up pretty well. I've used it for sub-floors, underlayment, and decking with great results. The empty screw buckets are handy to store other fasteners in also.

We had a Quickdrive, but didn't really like it. We bought a Grabber Superdrive at a tradeshow and love that thing. We recently broke it and have this on order http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00009LI4A/002-0771664-4923218
It uses the Lox bit and I only go through about one bit a year (12-15 homes avg sq ft 2200). We screw all our floors down when the house dries out.
