I need to design a fireplace/mantle and surrounding wall for a 1850’s farmhouse in upstate NY. Does anyone know of any good sources for design info/ideas for farmhouses of this period and style? I’m thinking of possibly a Rumford fireplace with the entire wall around it done in painted frame and panel wood. I’d love to see any design or picture books or other sources of info on this type of style.
