I am planning to build 17 lights for along my driveway. They will each be about 4 feet tall.I’m considering using Composite decking in place of cedar or another outdoor wood because of rot and bees. Anyone have experience using composite deck material for ‘shapes’? I’m especially concerned about excessive expansion/contraction.

The most common way to make your own parging mix is to use either Type S mortar for block or Type N for brick and add a concrete bonding additive.

I would just buy some 8'composite 4x4 material , cut it 4', drill it for wire, and mount a down dome light to the side for some good indirect lighting.
There is nothing worse than having a bunch of lights shinning in your eyes when you're trying to back out of a driveway on a rainy night.
