for $199 sears has a compound miter saw with a laser guide. picked one up yesterday. so far I like it – it is right on. no more squating down to see where the blade is going to hit. I know it is still a crapsman but what I was using to build my house was my dads black and decker miter saw with a blade guard that got in the way too much. I sure like the laser though. turns on when the blade gets above 1500 rpm. plus it is a compound miter saw – now I have one more way to get into trouble.

Well, I don't know what to say. If I showed up with that thing, my crew would probably beat me up.
I can just here it now:
"Well, that's fancy, what's next, velvet nail pouches"
If it'll help you out, i guess it's good. I can't justify the cost for the laser.
BTW Not a new idea. Can be retro-fitted to any saw.

*lol - well I know it is not an industrial saw. but like you said it works for me. I dont have a crew to impress. we had been looking for a laser retrofit off and on. thanks for the link. but I think for 150 it is a little steep.whats wrong with velvet nail pouches? I am not insecure with my manhood are you?:)sam
