You have to hire the same concrete company for the entire pour, to make sure what you get is consistant.
And tell them you want shment. The stuff made for footing and stemwall dual-pour. Not that stuff that is made for one or the other.
But Luka, you got to use crush gravel for the footing and pea gravel for the stem walls. so you got to tell them to load the pea gravel in the front of the truck and the crush fravel mix on the tail..Most hated person on the net
Depends on the circumstances.
What are yours?
How tall a stemwall?
Are the footers in trenches or forms?

I have done them , both ways. just pour the footer dry, real dry, wait about thirty minute and pour the stem wall. Most hated person on the net
I don't, but it a common practice in some places. I think that the article Jim Blodget did a year or two ago covered this - for a small addition.

Because you asked this question, I would hire this job out to pros. The stemwall is a hanging form over the footing. You may be capable of doing this ,but if something goes wrong during the pour you will wind up with five times as much work cleaning up the mess and repouring the wall.
If this is a small job and you do not have a contractor, call the carpenters union hall and explain what you need. Often this is the cheapest and best way out. I mention union carpenters because most form work of the kind needed is done by them.Rarely will you see stemwalls poured monolithically on residential sites. One man could likely form the work for you in a day, I'm assuming it is a samll job. This could be a side job for someone, or a retired guy maybe.

what you do is, form the hanging stem wall, pour the footing in the morning first and then couple hours later pour the stem wall. Most hated person on the net
cooman,
I have another solution. There are pros and cons, of course.
Pro: fast and easy to form, monolithic pour for increased strength,
Con: not approved by any regulatory authority, takes experience to ensure no voids or honeycombing, width is limited to 4" greater than the wall thickness.
The solution: Use an ICF product like Integra-Spec which has a taper-top form - upside down. Start with smooth and level substrate, add upside down taper top form and build up with standard forms to your desired height, which better not be very high. Reinforce the sides of the taper top form and backfill against it.
Note: I have never done this. Let me know if it works.
