Buy a copy of the recently released Taunton Press book on concrete countertops, which is on sale.

I'm pretty sure they have a video out too.
Excellence is its own reward!
Hey guys...I took a workshop from Cheng design studio in Berkley CA. last month. For starters, that guy is an artist....beautiful stuff. He spends only about an hour talking to the class, then his guys teach it. It's one day, and very helpful, especially for those that are visual learners. It's a pretty low tech system, and pretty do-able. The only real limits seem to be your own artistic talents. Would recommend it to anyone thinking of doing concrete counters. A bit expensive, (550.00) but after reading his book, seeing it done made more sense, and also, there seems to be some tricks of the trade that you don't see in the book. You can go on line to his web site, (Cheng design studios), or link from concrete countertops site. There is also a guy in seattle, different process, can be done over wood, who also has a workshop, but can't remember his name. Came across it from some concrete countertop link.
There's also Buddy Rhodes (http://www.buddyrhodes.com). They design, build, and install concrete countertops. They also sell materials specifically for concrete countertops.
The hardest part is cutting a hole in your wall big enough to back a cement truck through.
the rest is cake.
