Roger have you considered a form tie system by the trade name of Miracle ties.
I don't know if they are available in the states and are not used that often here in Canada.
I used them on a special project in Cape Breton Nova Scotia because the local forming contractors were hell bent on gouging the house owners for the form work portion of the project.
What we did was bring the ties with us from Ontario and bought the wood locally.
The form wall are constructed as you would a regular stud wall. Two by four studs with top and bottom plates spacing every foot. The inside or concrete side is lined with 1 x 8 boards running horizontely.
The ties themselves are heavy gauge wire that is pre formed to wrap around the stud on one side, and designed to lock around the stud on the other side of the wall. This is done by simply using the ears of the hammer and twisting the wire once.
On this project we poured ten inch walls 14 ft high.
All of the lumber was then reused on the project to build the garage and interior walls of the finished basement.
If I can be of help in your endeavours,
would be pleased to do so.

I am also pouring a foundation this spring and would like to know about any helpful hints on building your own concrete forms.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

I would like to pour my basement walls but finding concrete forms has been dificult. I live in western NC, havent found any place that rents them, which I would prefer to rather than build them. Thank you, Roger
