New house will have stained cc radiant (hydronic/PEX tubing) finish floor w/ crawl space. No slab on grade, no Gypcrete. Desire input on substructure and slab specs. Leery of I-joists so thinking wood joist & girder system w/ ply subfloor, vapor barrier (6mm poly?). 2″ slab pumped- 6 sack pea gravel, fiber?, control joints scored 2’x3’pattern (1/2″ deep enough?). Thoughts on slab as structural unit vs. framing providing structure? Would do all framing incl partitions and roof first.

We have the same kind of floor. Our difference is the slab is 1.5 inches. We did no control joints or fiber. We have 4 cracks in 1100 square feet of floor. We did i joists, 12 inch on center and beefed them up from 9 in. to 12 inches. The cracks are where two or more rooms meet in hall ways. The floor was stained 17 days after pouring.
