I’ve got a crack in the concrete sewer pipe leading out of my house. It is right where the storm drain connects at a Y on the underside of the pipe. This is old stuff (1924) and will be difficult to work with. Any recommendations? What about creating a form around it and pouring ready mix in to create a seal? Thanks in advance!

Hi Mike,
That old concrete pipe is delicate to repair. Just thinking about it will crack the pipe.
You will have to carefully exposed the pipe around the entire broken section, use a patch and two adjustable strap clamps to hold it in place. Hand pack the sand under it and then cover the pipe with a little concrete, let set and then backfill.

*Michael, there's a product called "Plumbers Dynamite" made by de Best Mfg in Gardena CA that is just what you are thinking of. Comes in 25# box. Might be available where you are, try your local plumbing supply. Joe H
