I live in Kodiak, Alaska and would like to build a shop using timberframe bents and stress skins. My question is regarding the type of concrete slab to pour. Should I pour footings first and then the inner slab with tubing for infloor heat? Or would a monolithic slab be better? Either way I will place tubing and insulate under the main slab. Our weather is coastal and wet rainy the majority of the time so the sub zero temperatures are not a factor most of the time. I would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks. Steve
