Concrete slab put to or over fiber cement siding??
I want to pour a slab up to the front porch of a home I’m building (the entry door). The project is an addition -remodel, in which the entry is situated between the new addition and the old remodeled house.
Imagine walking up to the entry and on the left is the addition wall, and on the right the existing remodel. The remodeled side has a concrete stem wall that is lower than the new addition stem wall (about 6”).
My question is whether I can pour my entry slab up to the bottom edge of the fiber cement, and on the remodel side pour over the fiber cement by about 4” I would most likely flash the fiber cement with PVC coated aluminum flashing I’m wondering if there is a code issue with this… not being compliant by covering part of the siding with cement
Help!

Are you in an area with subterranean termites?
Nope; but again... there is no wood siding... only James Hardie fiber cement
Hardie recommends min 1” clearance above a slab.
It's not them getting TO the siding, it's them getting BEHIND the siding. If they have a hidden path you could have fiber cement studs and they'd get to the top plate. Glad you don't have them.
