   I think what you want is Sikaflex.  (sic).  That and you might want to look at your drainage.

   A problem with concrete pads/sidewalks/etc next to a structure is that the backfill takes forever to compact.  Regularly I have seen concrete tilting toward the building.  You probably have two choices:  break it out and redo the soil drainage near the house or have the pad mudjacked.

   JohnD1, thanks for that bit of advice on the pad sloping, i checked it & it slopes away from the building, i will check into the sic...

   Moopy, i was googling Sikaflex & there are several kinds, any certain one you recommend? remember, i think i am looking for a very wide bead (i think), wider than a typical caulk gun tip provides.

   jim,

   I think if you read the specs and installation on the Sika products there are instructions for dealing with wide cracks. Can't remember your exact situation and th epic but if it is a small slab you may be able to use a big bar as a lever and slide it closer to the foundation ."Poor is not the person who has too little, but the person who craves more."...Seneca

   there isnt a wide crack at all, water just migrates thru,  i thought a wide bead like i see in commercial applications in concrete expansion joints, between precast concrete walls, etc would be best, rather than just a 3/8 or so that you get with a normal caulking gun. maybe i just need to run a few beads on top of each other & tool it into a wide bead.  a tradesman buddy of mine thought that he saw this type of sealant being used from a pail, not a caulking gun, maybe its available either way. i just thought right now that maybe i should check with Graingers...  this area also has a lot of sun (east side)
