Hi,
I need to pour a concrete sill for new patio doors I’m installing in solid brick exterior wall. I’m no masonary expert and so need advice on the concrete type for a sill that will be about 3″ thick and 8″ wide.
Can somebody please tell me what type of concrete you would recommend for this type of job. I am in the Great Lakes area so we do have weather that gets well below freezing. if that makes a difference.
Thanks so much in advance.

marlonb,
Here in NW Oh. I would order up a limestone sill rather than forming up concrete. It would be a more traditional look.
If I had to do concrete, I'd probably use bag mix and fight the aggregate. Taking the forms off while still green (but well set) and rubbing in a slurry of sand mix to fill the voids.
