Concrete wall panels w/ steel framing

We started work this week on a bed room remodel and discovered that the walls of this house are built like nothing I’ve seen before. The framing is steel channels welded back to back to create I-beams or more appropriately, H-beams as they are used as studs. The wall covering (both interior and exterior) is 1 1/2″ thick concrete panels which are held to the studs with nails driven thru plate “washers” that over lap the joint. The concrete is very light. A 20″ x 48″ panel weighs less than 40#
The panels are covered with plaster 1/2″ to 3/4″ thick.
The house was built in the 40’s
Anybody know what type of construction this is? Where else it might be used? I’ll try to snag a couple of photos in case my description isn’t clear.

Your description sounds like Dryvit System. Still used today.Do a google search and look at some pictures to see if it is the same.
