Was wondering if anyone could help me out there. I have a construction company and have been printing out my estimates, invoices, etc. for years now. But the computer went with all my software and the company stopped making the software I was using. I was wondering if anyone had any luck with some “contractor forms” type software out there. Nothing fancy, just estimates, invoices, change orders that sort of thing. I tried the Socrates E-Z brand and just about threw my computer out the window. Could use any advice.
Thanks, Chuck in Cleveland

I've been using these for years and really happy with it.

I bought a book called "Smart business for contractors" I followed his instructions and am not having any issues. I only use contracts for med to large projects. Any project that takes a day or less I use preprinted double copy invoices from office depot. I also use a Time and Materials basis for charges and I use the "contractors pricing guide 2007" to estimate both. I dont use the location factor either cause mine is .84 and Id rather keep the .16 even if its gravy. (I likes the gravy).
I have attached a copy of one of my labor only contracts as an example. I also used Right of Rescision forms and explain my deposit requirements as well as cancellation policy. for Labor and Materials I take a 1/3 deposit for each and materials are purchased, delivered to customers home and paid for in full when I give them a receipt from me. (that way I can make my 20% on materials also). Homeowner stores all materials but usually the job starts right away or within a week anyway. I have no trouble getting people to pay. In fact I have a harder time getting contractors to pay in a timely manner than I do with homeowners.
