I just failed the residential contractors test. Any feedback out there on how to prepare short of reading the whole code book thanks

Check around and see if anyone in your area offers a seminar. This will get you familiar with which areas of the code you will need to know for the test.
Hope this helps............Sandy
Well you took the test, don’t you remember what was on the test that should be a good start on what to study. When you got that down cold and know it go and take the test again. I can only hope that test is completely different so you fail that test also so you can study that so you can get that down cold. Hopefully by the time you pass the test you will know the building code.
And if you fail your first driving test do not bother to take it again, Fredsmart will pick you up and drive you to work.

Maybe your words didn't really say what you meant but it's been awhile since I've seen someone say so little with so much attitude, fredsmart. The guy's looking for positive, constructive advice. What you gave sounded like a slam. Have you passed a license exam?.

Agreed on what Sandy said. Seminars are available (in my area) that teach you how to take the test.
I'm pretty sure that there are books in print to help with the Mass and the Calif tests. They might be a good start.
Maybe Freds got a point. Do you get to review the test, keep it or find out what questions you got wrong? Or do you just get a grade, pass or fail and tough luck buddy?
If you can find a seminar within traveling distance, that's got to be the best and fastest way. You get to feed back and ask questions for clarification and maybe do a little networking too.
Good luck.

Piffin.......here in NC there is no test review. The only info you get is your grade, cant even find out what questions were missed.

Gentlemen,
Thanks for the feedback.
A seminar would be helpful but I'm not aware of any here{Denver}. After the test all you got was your grade so I don't know which answers I got wrong. However there was a pattern to what they asked, egress, fire code, foundations, framing so I will read up on those areas before retaking it again.
