Is it possible to convert central airconditioning unit to central heat pump and air conditioning and if yes how do you do it? Thank you

You might be able to reuse some of the ductwork.
It is basically a one for one swap. The devil is in the details. What are you using for heat now? Is your duct work set up for heating? What will you use when the heat pump is not enough? Answer that and you have an idea of what it really means.
