An old post drill. They're pretty common around here. No way is it worth anything near what the guy is asking.
Have drill exactly like that in the barn, that is a pretty small one. May have paid $40 for the one I have, and thought I paid too much, even though I bought it from a co-worker. Not cleaned up and painted like that one though.
Ponytl had a post today about finding a good ol' Datsun truck, so thought I'd look on CL again.
Saw '82 4x4 king cab Datsun on CL for $900 with 45K on the 2nd engine and some rust and trashed seats, near bald tires.
Told the guy to send me an e-mail in a month or so if he still wants to get rid of it for $350 or $400. Got a '92 S-10 that way with a 4.3 V-6 and 130K miles but some fender damage. Guy had sent me an e-mail 2 months after he first listed!
So, this guy sure burned one bridge, sent me an e-mail back offering to buy me a $30 bus pass <G>
so.... are you going to get the bus pass?p:)
get the bus pass...
Will need to get a bus ticket anyway or RER and Metro tickets Sunday. .. cost more than $30 ($27 Euros anyway) to get from CDG to Montparnasse and around town then, Monday is TGV to Niort for business all week.
Just got up, trying to get onto French time again.

Maybe he wanted to send you the bus pass so that you wouldn't have to get a ride to pick up the truck. Seems like good customer service to me...:)
My grandfather had something similar, only with the flywheel on top.
