Just ran across these pics. Meant to post them several months ago when we finished with the project and missplaced them. Dale installed the roofs and flashings. Sphere did the carpentry repair.

Nice stuff man.
Nothing highlights quality carpentry like copper and brick work.
Love the combination.

Thanks, but could you move along. My mommy said to stay away from you. I don't want to get in trouble.http://grantlogan.net/

FYI ........ I clicked on the link to your site and it came up with several red x's and the phone and email were obscured.
Hmm. Thanks, I'll check it out. I've gotten a couple of calls off of it today so it must be something temporary or very recent.
edit: must have been temporary. It's fine now, but thanks again for the heads up.

Hey Grant,
When you tie the copper to the brick, do you cut the mortar to allow the copper in and follow with some sort of caulk?

Yessir. Normally, we use Geocel 2300 caulk. In this case, we were replacing existing flashing, so I doubt there was much cutting. The new flashing replaced the old. I don't think Dale filled the joints in this application. The house needs some other masonry work, so I think he left them open to be filled later with mortar.http://grantlogan.net/

do you have any pictures of copper standing seam with a brick chimmney coming through? I'm going to start a thread about fireplaces choices, actually the chimmney that results from the choice, but a picture from you may answer some of my questions.
Thanks
Kevin
If Grant can't come up one, I have some on my other computer.

So's the chimney on the beach house not there now? Oh, I guess you had to loose it when you jacked the house up. The chimney needs top be in place before the roof goes on or it's tough to work it in later, especially if its anywhere but the ridge. IIRC from the pics, the chimney was at the eave.http://grantlogan.net/

chimmney was just below the rdige, not sure what i'm doing with that just yet. I will have it figured out well before roof though. I f I go with masonry fireplace, I'd probably use firerock, preengineered DIY friendly, but it would require a concrete footing. With a metal firebox I can just have it rest on the floor, no additional support. I'll due my due diligence and go from there. http://www.firerock.us/

Grant,
I may be able to go-- but with 4 months with no income, money may be an issue.
My wife has a trip planned with Primary Source to Cambodia and Viet Nam around that same time for her work so that may also impact my ability to go.
Sounds like a big number of BTers will be attending
