Just looking into ideas on relining yankee gutters. 100 y.o. Victorian with originally copper-lined and subsequently rubber-lined gutters (I think these are true ‘Yankee’ gutters: they are woven into the original cedar shingles, same plane).
If I replace with copper as original, do I need to make an expansion joint(s) in the 40′ straight run?

No.But the joints should be pre-tinned.
